JAMES E. EAGAN

James E. Eagan is a graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton.  He obtained his law degree from the Tulane University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, was a member of the Moot Court Board and the winner of the Chaffe, McCall, Phillips, Toler & Sarpy Appellate Competition.

Mr. Eagan is admitted to practice in both Federal and State Court.  His practice primarily involves insurance defense litigation, including: medical malpractice, other professional malpractice, premises liability, products liability and toxic tort/environmental claims.

Mr. Eagan has an active trial practice and he has successfully tried cases to verdict on behalf of physicians, hospitals, HMOs, nursing homes, pharmacies, pharmacists, national retailers and ladder manufacturers.

From 2003 through 2007, Mr. Eagan was the President of Lawyers for Learning, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation that runs a tutoring program at Buffalo Public School #18, and he remains actively involved in the program.  He was a founding member of Lawyers for Learning and, prior to serving as President, he served as the Vice President (2000-2002) and Treasurer (1998-2000).

Mr. Eagan is an avid sailor and he is on the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Canoe Club, where he currently serves as the Fleet Captain.  He also coaches his childrens' soccer teams and is on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Soccer Club.
